Year 3 to 6 Interhouse Swimming Carnival — Friday, 8 March

On Friday, 8 March the Year 3-6 Interhouse Swimming Carnival kick-started with war cries in the Junior School courtyard. The House Captains did a phenomenal job in creating chants. It was an amazing day, with incredible atmosphere. Thanks to all the parents, friends and teachers for helping with the carnival. Congratulations to the winning house for 2019 – ROME.

Harmony Week in Junior School

The JS Library has been promoting Harmony Week leading up to the national celebration of Harmony Day on Thursday, 21 March. It is a time to celebrate WA’s diverse heritage that originates from all over the world and builds upon our rich Indigenous culture. Some interesting Australian Bureau of Statistics facts include:

  • Australians identify with over 300 ancestries
  • Since 1945 more than 7.5 million people have migrated to Australia
  • More than 70 Indigenous languages are spoken in Australia

The library has set up a display of materials, flags and information resources that will interest and challenge the students as they view and borrow. We encourage all students to visit the library during Harmony Week.
